Hypnosis is a state of heightened sense of awareness and concentration, that we all experience on a daily basis. For example; being engulfed in a great book or movie, daydreaming or even while driving a car. These moments we might find ourselves "zone-out” even though we still have some awareness of our surroundings. This type is called Natural Hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy is facilitated by a trained Hypnotherapist who is merely your guide into the pleasant Hypnotic state.

Hypnotherapy is safe and medically approved

Hypnosis has been around for centuries, and is in fact derived from scientific research. It is not supernatural nor of the occult, but a purely natural manifestation of the powers of the human mind.
Evidence of hypnosis dates back to the eighteen century with an Austrian doctor, Franz Anton Mesmer, who found that he was able to “cure people of illness” without medicine or surgery. This is where the term "mesmerism" came from. Mesmer's findings evolved over time when popular surgeons such as John Elliotson, James Esdaile and James Braid brought it to the medical field. Many others followed developing and studying hypnosis further, but it was Milton Erickson, in the 1960's, who popularized Hypnotherapy as it is commonly used today. The American Medical Association accepted the therapeutic value of hypnotism in June 1958. Canadian and British medical associations agreed on April 23, 1995.
Even though the benefits of Hypnosis have been recognized in medical and healing communities for over one-hundred years, there are still many misconceptions about Hypnosis - what it is and what it feels like. Often Hypnosis is thought of as a 'loss of control' as many people think of “Hypnotists” who use basic hypnotic knowledge in combination with stage tricks to hypnotize audience members for entertainment purposes. This can sometimes appear like people are doing things against their will, however, even Stage Hypnotists need consent from each person in order to hypnotize them on stage.
Hypnosis while used in therapy not only requires a person's consent, but is a relaxing, empowering and very healing experience. Since all Hypnosis is Self-Hypnosis, you are always in control and able to recall the positive experience long after each session.

"I was unsure of what hypnotherapy would bring to my life. I was initially nervous to be so vulnerable with someone to allow them for that type of access into my mind, when (and if it was even possible) I hadn't had that type of access into it myself. I am however extremely grateful and truly blessed that I chose to work with Saira. It has been a transformative experience for my life as well as, incredibly healing. Its helped me gain understanding and insight about my life and all life, allowing for and creating positive growth. I would have to say that along with removing blocks and revitalizing my connection to well, everything, essentially the peace of mind and heart that I've begun to enjoy in my life would not have been possible if Saira had not created such a safe, supported and private space for me to feel comfortable in. I would recommend to everyone I know, skeptic minds, true believers, venerable hearts and those who just want good out of their life, to enjoy the experience of working with Saira."

"I have known Saira as my hypnotherapist since the spring of 2010. Through our work together I have developed a great respect for hypnotherapy as it has been a healing experience and has helped me process my phobia of sharks. Since childhood I have been terrified of sharks to the point that looking at a picture of a shark could make my heart pound, and I would have to have short showers because touching water would make my mind wander and I would panic about sharks. Although these experiences seem ridiculous and that an adult should be able to rationalize them, no matter how much I knew that there was no way that I was going to be attacked by a shark, I could not stop feeling vulnerable around water. Clearly this fear was impacting my life on a daily basis and after trying everything that I thought was possible to conquer it left me frustrated and feeling like there was no way to overcome my fear.
After having two attempts of seeing different psychologists who suggested exposure therapy, where I would swim in a pool with a blow up shark, I finally found Saira. Saira explained how Hypnotherapy could help my phobia and that it was deep rooted in my subconscious mind. My conscious mind was not able to tap into the true reason of why I was so scared of sharks and therefore regular talk therapy and exposure would not help me to process my fear. Through my work with Saira I have been able to connect with my subconscious mind and work through the real issue, which turned out to have nothing to do with sharks, by using regression. Without the warm guidance through this process that Saira provided I would still be terrified of sharks. I strongly believe that hypnotherapy is the only way that I would have been able to work through this issue. From the beginning of our work together Saira has illustrated true professionalism, genuine caring and an undeniable talent to help people heal from a wide variety of challenges in their life. I highly recommend Saira's services to anyone looking to improve their life."

"Saira has a safe and gentle approach to therapy that allowed me to explore different healing pathways at a speed of my own choosing. I came into the first session with complete trust in Saira. That said, unconscious road blocks still popped up as she led me into a deep inner state. Saira was supportive and gave me full reign to go at my own pace. I never felt out of control during the session, only more introspective.
Afterwards, the session continued to reverberate within me for several weeks. The insights gleaned gradually evolved into a deeper understanding of who I am today and the path I am on. Her work is a gentle simmer of healing that continues to work its magic long after the session is over. I highly recommend Saira."
